Qigong is a practice that was born to educate the mind, cultivating its qualities of clarity, wisdom, self-efficacy, to favor the natural self-healing processes of the mind-body organism and regain health.
Qigong (in Italian “ci cong”) is a generic word for a variety of energy exercises and healing practices that developed in ancient China. The word qigong is made up of two characters in Chinese: qi which means “life force” and gong which instead means “ability”, “work”, but also “achievement”. So we could translate the word qigong like this: exercises in which body and mind are in harmony in order to govern the life force. More briefly we could say that qigong is the art of cultivating life force; cultivation that requires effort and time to be developed.
