Two excursions on the north side of Mount Etna, dressed in the colors of autumn, one of the most beautiful areas of the volcano, where still in some ways you can find corners of wild nature. This has allowed us to conserve animal species such as the renowned GATTO SELVATICO SICILIANO, which is particularly present in these places. These hunting areas of this amazing animal will frame our excursion which will have as one of the themes the deepening on the knowledge of this beautiful predator. For our excursion we will move between MONTE SPAGNOLO, MONTE SANTA MARIA, PIRAO district, PASSO DEI DAMMUSI. The first route will start from the FEUDO DELL’ANNUZIATA, beautiful testimony of an ancient silvo-pastoral tradition, which over the centuries has shaped a particular landscape, made of terraces, ancient “MANNARE” and “PAGHIARI”, until reaching the infamous cave of BURO ‘. A tunnel of lava flow of about 250m that seems to want to reach the center of the earth or perhaps the ancient and hidden door of the forge of the EFESTO. The route will continue towards Monte Spagnolo, its refuge, the beautiful beech forest and the COLATA OF 1981, with its fracture that in a few days reached the village of Randazzo. The second path will take us once again to another beautiful beech forest, that of TIMPAROSSA. For this route we will climb altitude, up to 2000m, to admire the beautiful crater of Timparossa, Among spectacular views ranging from Calabria to the Aeolian Islands, we will enter the forest dressed in autumn to reach the characteristic refuge that takes its name from Mountain. Our visit will continue until you reach the GROTTA DEI LAMPONI, one of the most beautiful lava caves of Etna.
